the sun moves

the sun moves across the sky
my indecision grabs me
takes hold and grasps so tightly
sometimes i think i could cry.
it's a very complicated situation, you see.

i read the daily paper
my horoscope seems so consistent.
lately something about finding myself.

the birds chirp
in reminiscent of my past.
i wear my slogan t-shirts and wait for the next movie
ben harper tunes in the background.

the storm has caught up to me
and my emotions fumble my actions into chaos and anger,
though i'm hardly an angry person.

even so, lately my dreams have been haunting
something i can hardly escape, even if i wanted to.

my mother called me the other day
listened and spoke with sincerity
for the first time in a while.

that made me smile.

i need some words
to help the soul inside me
slow the sun
and make my dreams take flight.

hello, darlings.

First of all I'd like to say, I do so apologize for being such an infrequent blogger.
My ideas, thoughts and opinions seem to come in waves - but I just wanted to update you a bit on my progress.

In between the never-ending process of moving, we've been galavanting around this fine city.
The past few days have mostly been rain, rain, cold, a little warm, rain again.
Ugh.

Our laptop computer overheated about a week ago - which left us computer-less for a good 96 hours. That was interesting to say the least. We made our way to the internet cafe a time or two, but let's face it, it's not the cleanest place to go. Not around here, at least.

Since this was the second time our laptop overheated (it was a super-crappy laptop, with the fan on the bottom) we decided to get a desktop computer instead. I'm not exactly computer-savvy or anything like that, but apparently Windows Vista is not compatible with most things, which makes our lives even more difficult.

Other than that, I have been very anxious to take up some workshops. Since I have been out of school for awhile, about 2 years, I thought it might be convenient to start out with an online class. This will allow me to dip my little toes back into education, without feeling too overwhelmed.

The class I actually want to take (which is through the same school as the online class) is located in the East Village, I believe. I read about the courses and found out that my work needs to be presented in front of the class. Ekk! This scares me - truly, it is one of my worst fears. It took me 4 years to finally get comfortable with the kids I went to high school with, but by that time I was already graduating, which made the effort of 'public' speaking seem meaningless.

The exciting news is, my brother is coming to visit! Yay! He will be staying from late June, until late July (after my birthday - which is July 17th, by the way). Him and I have some serious exploring to do. The most exciting feeling for me is giving him the city at such a young age. He doesn't normally travel because he's only 17, but even so, he's only been to Texas and the surrounding states of Wisconsin. I can't wait - and he'll even be here for my 20th birthday!!

I have been doing some occasional shopping, but it seems my days as of late have consisted more and more of buying household goods and assembling furniture. We bought a bed from Ikea, but the boards that came with it are actually too small. We called Ikea and asked if we could have queen boards delivered, but they told us they don't deliver/replace those. We would have to come in and exchange them for the right size. Funny thing is, we got rid of our car, and now rely on public transportation. There's really almost no possible way we can get to Ikea (which is 30 miles away) unless Justin's brother takes us.
Ugh.
Very frustrating.

OOoo!!! Forgot to tell you - I GOT THE BOOTS!

I love them so much. It was really incredible, too, that asos, an online store in the UK delivered my boots in about 4 days. Very fast shipping.

Well, lovies .. I have things to do today. The sun is FINALLY out, and the weather is inviting. I shall be off then.

XO.
